Perfect ink jet coder for food manufacturingGoodlife Foods is a top manufacturer of high quality vegetarian foods supplying many large retailers, including Tesco and Iceland. The Customer Requirements Goodlife Foods Ltd was an existing customer of The Needham Group having serviced and supported their ink jet coders for over ten years. When their existing coder became old and overworked it was providing both costly and unreliable. They required to print a twin line code onto primary and secondary food packaging in a chilled room, therefore at relatively low temperatures. Low fluid consumption, running costs and high reliability were a necessity due to the line being in operation 16 hours a day, 6 days a week. Being a long production period there were a number of different operators, therefore simple operation was also required. The Needham Group Proposal Having been a customer for over ten years and desperately requiring a coder we provided Goodlife Foods with a free extensive trial of our ci500 MEK system. Having conducted the trial for a couple of weeks, and despite researching our competitors’ systems, Goodlife Foods were assured that the ci500 was the perfect solution to their coding needs and placed an order for the system currently on trial and insisted that it remain at their premises. Additional printers have since been purchased based on the success of the Citronix ci500 system. Customer Quote “We have used The Needham Group for over ten years for service and support of our ink jet coders and they have provided a service second to none. They have responded to our problems at unsociable hours, weekends and dealt with our changes in requirements quickly and efficiently. It was only natural that we should use Needhams for our replacement system and the ci500 has proved itself to be the perfect solution in terms of purchase cost, simplicity, reliability and running costs”.
