Ticket XPress
For applications where the sales process contains complex information and selection procedures, the Ticket Xpress has been proven to be the ideal solution. Widely accepted in the UK Rail Industry there are currently nearly 400 units either installed or are on order.
The overall TVM design approach of S&B emphasises the use of low-risk, proven equipment and components that can be used to create an open-system solution. The hardware components, operating system, database, communication protocol and hardware interfaces are all based on current industry standards. This design methodology has allowed S&B to design an innovative fare collection system.
The S&B design methodology incorporates the use of standard components in a modular fashion. This methodology allows S&B to easily incorporate changes in technology as they occur. The use of standards, both internal S&B standards and international standards, coupled with the modular design methodology is an important aspect relating to the long-term support of the system, S&B is proposing to its customers. In the future, such system aspects as central computers can be upgraded with a minimum of difficulty due to the use of standard operating systems and interfaces. The modular architecture applies to both hardware and software components.
Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs are designed:
- to be suitable for operation in an outdoor environment
- to be vandal resistant and secure
- ergonomically and suitable for use by disabled people
- to operate as stand alone machines
- to be integrated in an online driven management system
