Technical Service & Support Engineer

£28,000 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Needham Laser Technologies Limited is a specialist in the supply, installation and support of industrial laser marking and engraving systems in the UK. Due to recent growth, we are looking for a Technical Service & Support Engineer to service the increasing installed base and to support continuous development plans.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to become an integral member of our technical team and to contribute to the long-term development and success of the company.

Full training will be provided.


Key Responsibilities:


Whilst mostly field based (which may be area specific), some days will be spent in our technical headquarters in Whitchurch Shropshire.


Technical Support (in the field)


  • Visit customers to perform routine service and maintenance check-ups.
  • Respond to call outs to repair faulty systems.
  • Provide customer training on our systems.
  • Conduct on site installations, and occasionally demonstrations and trials.


Technical & Sales Support (in office)


  • Commissioning and preparation of laser marking systems prior to site visits.
  • Preparation of appropriate equipment prior to scheduled installations or demonstrations.
  • System repairs.
  • Continuous development and training; latest software updates, hardware updates.
  • Production of customer samples
  • Customer demonstrations.



Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Technical experience (laser marking and engraving systems an advantage)
  • Technical agility; mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, computer hardware and software
  • Good IT skills

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to build relationships with customers quickly
  • Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information
  • Enjoy networking and meeting new people

  • Prepared to travel around the UK
